Three vintage industrial fibre drums. The two red ones are printed with the manufacturers name – ‘Walrus Fibre Manfg.Co.ltd, Fibre Goods, Rochdale Lancashire, England’ – though on one it is not so clear due to fading. The iron studs along the side and and around the bottom really set these off.

The blue/red one appears to be unbranded though the mix of colours created over time lends itself to such fantastic patina.

The company’s specialty was making seamless fibre cans for the mill industry for cotton, worsted, flax, rope and jute spinning in the c1900s.

These have clearly been thoroughly used as evidenced in the photographs and can be continuously used as either decorative items or for storage purposes.
