PATONS BOOT AND SHOE LACE CABINET
£850.00
A stunning Paton’s Boot and Shoe Lace Cabinet, William Paton of Johnstone Mills, near Glasgow, Scotland, dating circa 1900s.
This charming little piece originated in shoe menders shops, where it was used to keep Paton’s Boot and Shoe Laces in neat order. The little chest has 3 dovetail drawers divided into sections and brass drop handles.
The graphics on either side are simply captivating pieces of art and take this item to another level. Of the few remaining ones, they either never made them with the graphics in the first instance or are too far gone to enjoy. If that was not enough the lettering on the drawers together with the brass drop down handles, undoubtedly, add further unquestionable patina.
