Stanley Orchart (British, 1920-2005) studied at Leeds School of Art and was known for his beautiful protrayals of the English countrysidein both oils and watercolour. He was in demand for commissions and Her Majesty the Queen Mother was a major patron of hs work.
Stanley Orchart is a listed and very well respected artist to this day.
This oil painting is that of a past Mayor of Bedford and dates to 1950s.
Condition: Losses of paint to canvas in several places, scuffs, marks and overall discolouration.
