Condition: Scuffs to frame and disclouration along left side of mount but in overall good condition.

Biography:
Robert Sadler was born in Suffolk, studied at Eastbourne Collage then Cambridge, before joining the RAF in 1930. During a high-flying very successful career, culminating in his appointment to NATO in U.S.A – Sadler always managed to attend art school. First in London then Copenhagen, Winchester and finally Washington, where he studied and became fascinated by American abstract art. Retiring in 1955 in order to ‘devote his life to painting’ – but still attending art school, this time in Cambridge, he had his first show at Swaffham Priory. This began a long distinguished exhibiting career at among others, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, John Moores Liverpool, Bradford, Cambridge, Belfast city galleries, EU Strasberg, Obelisk Gallery Washington etc.
