ANTIQUE WOODEN SIGN

An old lovely long wooden sign which reads ‘TO AND FROM THE RAILWAY STATION’. We date this c1900s based on the wood, paint but also the iron work on the reverse. The word ‘Station’ has been overpainted but appears to us to be old paint in any event. The patina is simply exemplary.
The sign was perhaps hung across a driven carriage advertising itself as a cab or across the modern day equivelant commissioned shuttle bus carrying passengers betweent the railway station and their hotel.
